I rocked a Spinach Smoothie Bowl this morning hoping it would give me “W” on the tennis court. I didn’t get the win but my energy level never faded during my 3 hours of match play with no courtside snacks. I gave it my best college try for not having played much and I only hit the fence first a few times.
It turns out that watching Venus Williams play does not make you play like her. I was hoping, HA! What a great inspiration and class act she is for athletes. I love watching her play. Not to mention her great style on the court.
This bowl was stacked with nutrients for an active workout. It has 1 cup of loose spinach, ½ of a frozen banana, ¼ cup of frozen pineapple, 1 tablespoon of collagen by Great Lakes Gelatin, 1 scoop of plant based vanilla protein powder by Tone it Up, and ½ cup of unsweetened vanilla + protein flax milk by Good Karma Foods. These are blended until a creamy consistency is achieved. I topped this bowl with the other ½ of the banana, granola, raw pumpkin seed and a couple of strawberries.
The US Open is on to the quarterfinals. Can’t wait to tune into great tennis.
