Volunteers Have Heart Smoothie Bowl
Did you get a chance to see the 20/20 special on Hurricane Harvey? It’s an eye opener. I was brought to tears several times. The silver lining that was made ever present in the program was the help of the volunteers and neighbors helping neighbors. Can you imagine waiting to be rescued on your roof top as flood waters rise with several members of your family? Or being escorted of your home on a Jet ski through the front door?
Last year in my own volunteer service, this quote was said, “Volunteers don’t necessarily have the time they just have the heart” ~ Elizabeth Andrew. As our local Louisiana people scramble to donate whatever they have to offer Texas and enlist help to sort recovery supplies, that quote comes to mind and inspirited this smoothie bowl.
Very simple… 1 frozen banana, ½ cup of frozen raspberries, ½ cup of nondairy milk blended to a creamy consistency. Topped with blueberries and shredded coconut. My 4-year-old loved this is one.
