I keeping seeing Matcha Tea across my feed and I can't help but wonder, what is Matcha Tea? So like any curious person, I Googled it of course and a familiar name pops up. McKel Hill of Nutrition Stripped. She is a someone I follow and there it is on her blog. All you need to know Matcha Tea. She had me at L-Theanine to investigate giving this tea a try. I stopped by Whole Foods Market and used what I already had in the fridge to make it happen.
I used 1 Matcha Travel Pack by Rishi, 1/2 cup of hot water, 1/2 cup of nondairy unsweetened vanilla flax milk + protein by Good Karma Foods and blended that well. I warmed by So Delicious coconut milk creamer and frothed it. Added the froth to the top and to my surprise.... this Matcha Tea is good stuff!
Is a very pleasant, light, creamy flavor. I can't put my finger on it but it reminded me of a creamed light earl gray tea. It is very approachable and the healthy benefits are many. My husband said it tasted like mint ice cream. Now really, was his mind playing tricks on him because of the color??
